We close out our month of love…

with three poems by Barry Spacks

.

Monday Morning Poem

The music of conversation:
exchanged risks of breath:

takes a twoness.

.

A Little Sermon on Marriage

Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Blake
practiced nakedness in their garden,
made love there in innocent training
for Paradise.

.

At the wedding at Cana,

the world-respected Jewish poet and rabbi
turned water to wine, his first miracle,

declaring by this metaphor
that marriage turns the waters of life to wine.
