Little Star goes live!

Join our bounty of Boston-area writers, including beloved contributing editor and muse Melissa Green, and visiting eminences Eugene Ostashevsky and William Wadsworth, at the Pierre Menard Gallery on Sunday, January 23, for a kick-off reading!

Sunday, January 23   7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Pierre Menard Gallery, 10 Arrow Street, Cambridge, MA

Other readers will include LS poets Steven Cramer, James Stotts, Nora Delaney, George Kalogeris, and Daniel E. Pritchard.

The Pierre Menard Gallery is right in Harvard Square and hosts lots of poetry readings and other literary goings on; they are also partners with our friends, Lame Duck Books, one of the most intellectually adventurous rare book dealers we know.

We thank our lucky stars for Daniel Pritchard, this week appearing on our Little Star Features page, for putting this reading together.  Daniel is the force behind the blog The Critical Flame, Marketing Manager at Boston Review, and the curator of the reading series U35 Poetry at the Marliave.

Read a portion Eugene Ostashevsky’s riotous translation of the Russian absurdist Oberiu poets from Little Star #2 on this very blog. Melissa Green’s poems have been featured in Little Stars #1 and #2, and can be read in The New York Review of Books and The New Republic. Hear her read at The Ottoman Estate and watch a Tribute to Melissa featuring Frank Bidart, Bill Corbett, David Ferry, Melissa Green, Fanny Howe, George Kalogeris, Gail Mazur, Jennifer Moxley, Robert Pinsky, Lloyd Schwartz, Tom Sleigh, Derek Walcott, and Rosanna Warren. Or follow her own blog: Vesper Sparrow’s Nest.

I’ll be heading up there myself to cheer my wonderful LS writers and sprinkle Little Stars around local bookstores.
